Simon Youlton, Chief Scientific Officer, joined Sinclair in January 2010 to lead a restructured R&D and regulatory team from the Group‟s corporate offices in the UK. Simon immediately embarked on a strategic review of the R&D pipeline which resulted in swift decisions, and project attrition in order to release and refocus resources towards:

a) leveraging the key company assets with the largest commercial potential, such as delmopinol and the „Flamma‟ branded products for burns and woundcare; and

b) identifying and undertaking the first steps in acquiring/licensing new products and near market developments that can not only synergise with Sinclair‟s existing pharmacy and dermatologists distribution channels but provide products with global reach and significant USPs.

On 15^th May 2011 Sinclair Pharma’s employees united to take part in ‘Walk the Wight’, the annual fundraising event organised by and in aid of the Earl Mountbatten Hospice on the Isle of Wight.

Sinclair Pharma’s team was comprised of 42 employees from Sinclair’s affiliates in France, Italy, Spain and the UK, who had donated their weekend to participate in the walk which began in Bembridge and ended in Carisbrooke, covering a total distance of 20 km. The walking time amassed to six hours and 15 minutes, during which the team tackled the undulating paths of the island’s terrain, battling the discomfort of blisters and aching limbs. In order to enhance the challenge, the team of walkers also camped out in tents on the eve of the event, managing with tremendous spirit to both construct and dismantle the tents before and after use.

While Sinclair’s employees have long been supporters of various charitable causes, this year’s ‘Walk the Wight’ marks the first time that members from all affiliates were invited to join together to engage in a common fundraising activity – an initiative that will soon be repeated as Sinclair develops its charity programme. We are delighted to confirm that Sinclair has raised a total sum of £10,088 for the event’s organiser and charity, the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.

The weekend was a great team building experience for all involved and thanks are owed to both the participants and sponsors, whose respective contributions rendered the event a terrific success.
